Kraus-Transiskus wedding

Katherine Nicole Transiskus and Matthew Wayne Kraus, of Columbia, were married at 2 p.m. July 4, 2015 at the First Christian Church in Columbia. The bride is the daughter of Timothy and Wendy Transiskus, of Blue Springs, and granddaughter of William and Dyann Weikert and Charles and Patricia McCarty, all of Buffalo, New York. The groom is the son of Rick and Irene Kraus, of Marshall, and the grandson of Charles and Carolyn Von Holten, of La Monte, and Dick and Mimi Kraus, of Sedalia.

Pastor Chris Nicolosi performed the ceremony. Kelsey Kelly was the maid of honor. Lizzy Milne, Dana Wesselman, Kimberly Deutsch and Sarah Quick were bridesmaids.

Tony Ricciardi was the best man. Alex Eisenschmied, Joel Uhlmeyer, Thomas Prickitt and Joe Trammel were groomsmen. Jacob Warner, cousin of the groom, was the ring bearer.

The rehearsal dinner was hosted by the groom’s parent’s on July 3, at The Heidelberg in Columbia. Following the wedding ceremony, a dinner, reception and dance were hosted by the bride’s parents at the Tiger Hotel in Columbia. The evening concluded with Fire in the Sky fireworks over downtown Columbia.

The bride is a 2012 graduate of Blue Springs High School. She is currently a student at the University of Missouri-Columbia, majoring in textile apparel management. She will graduate in 2016.

The groom is a 2010 graduate of Marshall High School. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering and a minor in mathematics from the University of Missouri-Columbia in May 2015. He is employed by the Missouri Department of Transportation as a construction inspector.

A future honeymoon is planned for Mexico. The couple resides in Columbia.
