The following is a sampling of cases that were resolved Aug. 7 during Law Day in the Pettis County Circuit Court, according to Pettis County Prosecuting Attorney Phillip Sawyer.
Dustin A. Lappat, 35, of Sedalia, was sentenced to concurrent terms of seven-, seven- and four-year sentences in the Missouri Department of Corrections on three separate matters — possession of a controlled substance (clonazepam), possession of a controlled substance (tramadol hydrochloride), and resisting/interfering with arrest. In addition, Lappat’s probation was revoked on a separate matter and he was was ordered to serve a previously imposed four-year sentence in the Missouri Department of Corrections.
Clarence E. Harvey, 28, of Sedalia, was sentenced to two years in the Missouri Department of Corrections for possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine).
Michael A. Baez, 35, of Sedalia, was sentenced to six seven-year sentences in the Missouri Department of Corrections on six separate matters — two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, two counts of second degree domestic assault and two counts of abuse and neglect of a child. In addition, Baez’s probation was revoked on a separate matter and he was ordered to serve a previously imposed seven-year sentence in the Missouri Department of Corrections.
Brendan Vanwinkle, 39, of Sedalia, was sentenced to terms of seven and three years in the Missouri Department of Corrections after his probation was revoked on two separate matters.
Latara Buckner, 27, of Sedalia, was sentenced to four years in the Missouri Department of Corrections for possession of controlled substance (methamphetamine).
Jamie Almanza Meza, 38, of Sedalia, was sentenced to two years in the Missouri Department of Corrections for leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident.
Jacob L. Etter, 20, of Sedalia, was sentenced to concurrent terms of 10- and four-year sentences in the Missouri Department of Corrections under 559.115 on two separate matters — delivery of a controlled substance and unlawful use of a weapon.
Angie L. Wirtz, 38, of Sedalia, was sentenced to two years in the Missouri Department of Corrections for possession of a controlled substance (diazepam).
Hester Williams, 40, of Sedalia, was sentenced to five years in the Missouri Department of Corrections after her probation was revoked.
