HIGH SCHOOL

GIRL’S SOCCER

Kickapoo 2, Smith-Cotton 1 (OT)

Jessica Coble scored on a penalty kick Thursday in a 2-1 overtime loss to Kickapoo in the Lady Chiefs Shootout.

The Lady Tigers continue the tournament 11:30 a.m. Saturday against Willard.

HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL

Smith-Cotton 16, Nevada 2 (F/5)

Nick Hagedorn and Brice Pannier recorded three hits apiece Friday at Nevada during a 16-2 victory.

Tyler Abney pitched four innings and Tristen Jackson closed the game.

Hagedorn drove in three runs and doubled. Clayton Meyer homered.

Windsor 11, Sacred Heart 4

Tanner Golden was the winning pitcher in an 11-4 Windsor victory against Sacred Heart on Thursday.

Nick Cashman allowed six runs, four earned, in two innings on the bump.

Bryan Schlotterbeck singled and drew three walks, scoring twice.

Knob Noster 7, Holden 1

The Panthers won the Holden Tournament over its hosts, Holden, 7-1 on Thursday.

Derek Bivens pitched 6 2/3 innings, striking out five.

Caleb Rinker finished 2-for-3 at the plate, scoring twice.

HIGH SCHOOL SOFTBALL

Windsor 22, Sacred Heart 7 (F/4)

The Lady Greyhounds tallied 19 hits in four innings during a 22-7 victory hosting Sacred Heart.

Windsor scored in every frame but the first. Devyn Williams had three hits and RBIs each. She doubled twice.

Laira Wheatley drove in three runs. Deja Scott finished with four stolen bases.

Lincoln 15, La Monte 0 (F/3)

Six runs in the first and nine runs in the second were enough for Lincoln in a 15-0 victory Thursday, hosting La Monte.

The Lady Cardinals collected 10 hits and seven walks. Sidney Johnson went 2-for-3 with three RBIs and two runs scored.

BOY’S TENNIS

S-C edges School of the Osage

The back-end of the Smith-Cotton card helped the Tigers beat Osage on the road, 5-4.

Mike Husyev and Ryan Hankins won their doubles match, 8-6, while Jared Baker and Jack Geary won, 8-5.

David Cho beat Roman Trowbridge, 8-3 in the No. 1 matchup. Hankins and Geary won their respective singles matches 8-3 and 8-2 to secure the Smith-Cotton match victory.

Emma Rollings was named Bryan Jenkins State Farm Athlete of the Week on Thursday. Rollings is a senior for Sacred Heart girl’s soccer. This senior Leader showed dedication, tough defense, determination as well as pride in her team. While not being busy during the soccer season, Rollings is on the Honor Roll, a member of National Honor Society, Top Senior in the Kaysinger Conference for the Math Team, involved in Envirothon and President of the Student Council and memeber of Speech & Debate, which qualified for state April 22. This fall, Rollings plans on going to college and possibly major in Philosophy and Environmental Studies.
