Two Sedalians were arrested Wednesday on drug-related charges after methamphetamine was found at a local residence.

According to a Sedalia Police Department STING Unit news release, at 6:34 a.m. SPD officers executed a no-knock, drug-related search warrant at a residence in the 300 block of East 13th Street. Upon entry into the home, two adults were detained without incident.

A Sedalia Police K9 Unit performed a sweep of the residence, and the K9 alerted the presence of narcotic odor throughout the home.

A search of the residence revealed meth, drug packaging materials/supplies and drug paraphernalia. An investigation revealed that meth was allegedly being distributed from the home. Both adults were arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail.

Timothy D. Kelzer, 46, of the residence, has been charged with possession of meth with intent to distribute, possession of meth and possession of drug paraphernalia. He is at the Pettis County Jail on a $50,000 bond, cash or surety. An arraignment took place Thursday and a hearing has been scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Velma M. Bozarth, 52, of the residence, has been charged with possession of meth and possession of drug paraphernalia. She is at the Pettis County Jail on a $5,000 bond, cash or surety. An arraignment took place Thursday and a hearing has been scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.
