GIRL’S BASKETBALL

Sweet Springs 50, Tipton 49

Sweet Springs pulled off the upset to advance to the Class 2, District 14 tournament finals Wednesday in a 50-49 victory over Tipton.

Tipton finishes with a record of 22-7.

The Lady Greyhounds (13-14) plays New Franklin 1 p.m. Saturday at Smithton High School in Smithton for the district championship.

New Franklin 50, Sacred Heart 48

New Franklin elimintated Sacred Heart from the Class 2, District 14 tournament in a 50-48 victory Wednesday at Smithton High School in Smithton.

The Lady Gremlins finish with a record of 16-10.

California 69, Cole Camp 39

California advanced to face Boonville in a matchup of top-ranked Missouri programs in the Class 3, District 13 tournament final after defeating Cole Camp, 69-39, Wednesday at Versailles.

Cole Camp finishes with a record of 21-6.

Leeton 51, Northwest 21

Top-seeded Leeton eliminated the Lady Mustangs from the Class 1, District 8 tournament Wednesday at Leeton High School in a 51-21 Lady Bulldog victory.

Northwest finishes the 2016-17 season with a record of 10-16.

Kingsville 56, Otterville 53

Kingsville edged Otterville 56-53 in a Class 1, District 8 tournament semifinals contest Wednesday to advance to the district final.

Otterville finishes its season 10-17.

Kingsville (15-11) challenges Leeton (24-2) for the tournament championship 6 p.m. Saturday in Leeton.

LATE TUESDAY RESULTS

Cole Camp 56, Sherwood 45

Down by eight at half, the Cole Camp Bluebirds outscored Sherwood by 10 in the third quarter and advanced to the Class 3, District 13 semifinals with a 56-45 victory.

Cole Camp (20-6) faces Versailles 7:30 p.m. at Versailles High School.

Brady Smith scored 14 in the second half to lead the Bluebirds with 20 points.

Eli Schroeder scored 12, Trace Brandes finished with 10 and Austin Berendzen had nine.

Nick Miles led Sherwood with 22 and Elijah Johnson scored 14 points.
