Gov. Nixon makes appointments to boards and commissions

Gov. Jay Nixon announced Wednesday his appointments to four boards and commissions, including a Sedalia resident.

Nixon nominated 10 individuals to the Child Abuse and Neglect Review Board, which provides an independent review of certain child abuse and neglect determinations.

James Cunningham, of Sedalia, was appointed to the review board. He is Dean of Academic Affairs for State Fair Community College and has a master’s of criminal justice from the University of Central Missouri. He also is a reserve deputy with the Pettis County Sheriff’s Office and has more than two decades of law enforcement experience. Nixon appointed him for a term ending April 7, 2018.

Other appointments included:

• Child Abuse and Neglect Review Board: Christopher Carriger, of Purcell; Jennifer Cato, of Liberty; Donna Erickson, of Webster Groves; Lana Martin, of Kansas City; Joseph Plaggenberg, of Jefferson City; Allie Chang Ray, of Ballwin; Eric Reece, of Rogersville; Chris Thiemann, of Humansville; and Amy Thompson, of Camdenton.

• Missouri State Board of Nursing: Taryn G. Sandheinrich, of Webster Groves.

• Missouri State Foster Care and Adoption Board: Katie L. Brown, of O’Fallon.

• Missouri Wine and Grape Board: Charles W. Schlottach, of Owensville.

• State Board of Senior Services: James L. Hodge, of Springfield.
