HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL

Jefferson City 26, Smith-Cotton 0

Jefferson City shut down the Smith-Cotton Tigers, 26-0, in a JV football game Monday evening at Tiger Stadium.

The Jays held a 20-0 lead at halftime. The Tigers’ Jake Sutherland had a first-half interception and Brody Kindle forced a fumble that was recovered by teammate Justin Osbourn.

Jefferson City 28, Smith-Cotton 13

The Smith-Cotton freshman football team fell on Monday to Jefferson City, 28-13, at Tiger Stadium.

S-C got off to a good start, with kicker Brett Grupe pinning the Jays at their seven-yard line on the opening kickoff then picking off a pass and returning seven yards for a touchdown. With Grupe’s PAT, the Tigers held an early 7-0 lead. But the Jays responded with a series of big plays for scores, moving out to a 28-7 lead at halftime. S-C’s Cameron Finley added a 60-yard TD run in the second half, and Drake Peterson had an interception.

HIGH SCHOOL VOLLEYBALL

Green Ridge 2, Concordia 0

Lady Tigers volleyball defeated Concordia 25-11, 25-18 at the Concordia Tri-Match on Monday.

Madisyn Bridges had six kills and two blocks. Quincy Scotten had seven assists, Haley McCarthy scored four aces and Mary Allen had four digs.

Green Ridge 2, Santa Fe 1

Lady Tigers volleyball won in three sets over Santa Fe at the Concordia Tri-Match on Monday.

Madisyn Bridges had 10 kills, six digs and five assists. Quincy Scotten had 11 assists.

Green Ridge is 6-3 on the season after two wins Monday.

Northwest 2, Crest Ridge 0

Lady Mustangs volleyball took down Crest Ridge in straight sets Monday.

Allison Barnes had six kills and six service points. Megan Walk served for nine points and had eight digs. Megan Simpson had eight assists.
