This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

Aug. 8

6:36 p.m.: Crystal S. Watts, 34, of Warsaw, was issued a municipal court summons in the 100 block of East 16th Street for stealing. Management of a business told an officer they saw a white female place something in her bag and try to leave the store without paying. Management made contact with the suspect at the door and recovered the stolen item, a Freestone dill pickle, valued at $1.57.

8:46 p.m.: Jeremiah Leon Davidson, 35, of the 700 block of Reine Avenue, was arrested near the intersection of East Third Street and South Marvin Avenue on a charge of driving with a suspended license.

Aug. 8

6:59 a.m.: A bike, valued at $400, was reported stolen from the back porch of a residence in the 1000 block of South Merriam Avenue.

10:17 a.m.: A subject reportedly entered a residence in the 900 block of East Seventh Street and stole tools.

11:59 a.m.: A bike, valued at $100, was reported stolen from the backyard of a residence in the 1100 block of East 10th Street.

12:18 p.m.: A wallet containing cash, three credit cards and a driver’s license was reported stolen from a table in the workout area of a local gym in the 1400 block of South Limit Avenue.

1:12 p.m.: A weed-eater and a leaf-blower were reported stolen from a vehicle parked at a residence in the 2600 block of Southwest Boulevard.

7:47 p.m.: A subject reportedly entered a residence in the 1600 block of Heck Avenue and stole several unspecified items, valued at $648.

10:17 p.m.: An SPD officer assisted Benton County and Pettis County sheriff’s deputies with a vehicle pursuit that began in Benton County. The suspect was stopped and arrested.

Aug. 9

7:55 a.m.: A subject reportedly stole unspecified items from a shed in the 13000 block of Hill View Road in Hughesville.

Arrests

Aug. 8

10:38 p.m.: Samual A. Craig, 24, of Windsor, was arrested in Pettis County on charges of driving while intoxicated and failure to drive on the right half of the road resulting in an accident.

Aug. 9

2:23 p.m.: Jonathan M. Bowgen, 18, of Springfield, was arrested in Benton County on charges of no insurance, failure to display valid license plates, exceeding the posted speed limit by 26 mph or more, careless and imprudent driving and resisting arrest.
