Warsaw man hurt in Benton
A Warsaw man sustained moderate injuries in a single-vehicle accident at 12:25 p.m. Monday in Benton County.
According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Phillip B. Mecum, 66, was driving south on U.S. Highway 65, south of state Route A/C, when he fell asleep and his vehicle drifted off the left side of the road. The vehicle returned to the road and Mecum over-corrected, causing the vehicle to strike the guardrail. It then traveled off the right side of the road, overturned and struck a fence before coming to rest in a field.
Mecum, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken by private vehicle to Bothwell Regional Health Center for his injuries.
Woman injured in Morgan
A Gravois Mills woman was injured in a single-vehicle accident at 3:30 p.m. Monday in Morgan County.
According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, April D. Shackelford, 26, was driving north on state Route 5, one mile north of Millifork Lane, when her vehicle traveled off the left side of the road and struck a fence.
Shackelford, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken by Mid-Mo Ambulance District to Lake Regional Health System in Osage Beach with minor injuries.
