Pettis County in slight risk for severe weather Tuesday night

Pettis County is no longer in an enhanced risk for severe weather Tuesday night, but severe weather could still hit the area.

According to Sedalia-Pettis County Emergency Management Agency Director Dave Clippert, Pettis County has been moved from the Enhanced Risk (30 percent) to the Slight Risk (15 percent). Pettis County is not in the tornado risk but the area could experience high winds of 58 mph or higher and large hail, 1-inch or larger.

Clippert said the timing could be anywhere from 7 p.m. Tuesday to after midnight Wednesday.

“The graphic shows us around midnight. Either way, if you are outside tonight just keep an eye on the sky,” Clippert said via email. “As the graphic states, the forecast is very uncertain.”
