This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

April 10

3:37 a.m.: Richard T. Beaulieu Plona, 31, of the 300 block of West Seventh Street, was issued a municipal court summons at his residence for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Officers responded to the residence for a drug investigation and made contact with the resident, who provided consent to search the home. Officers found marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

April 11

2:42 a.m.: Ryan Rodolfo Armenta, 26, of the 1000 block of East 10th Street, was arrested near the intersection of South New York Avenue and West Broadway Boulevard on charges of driving while intoxicated, improper lane usage, defective tail lights, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and open alcohol container. Officers conducted a traffic stop for a vehicle with defective tail lights and improper lane use. An investigation revealed the driver was under the influence of alcohol and marijuana.

7:05 p.m.: Gary E. Austin, 50, of the 100 block of West 14th Street, was issued a municipal court summons near the intersection of North Grand Avenue and West Main Street for open alcohol container. An officer conducted a traffic stop for an improper stop at an intersection. The officer smelled alcohol coming from the vehicle and after a consented search, found an open container of alcohol in the vehicle.

April 12

12:15 a.m.: Derek Scot Marquess, 30, Sarah Ann Tucker, 28, and Joshua C. Romanik, 23, all of the 700 block of South Lafayette Avenue, were all issued a municipal court summons in the 600 block of South Hancock Avenue for removing solid waste from containers without permission. A caller reported suspicious activity and saw four subjects with a shopping cart near the construction area of the Katy Trail Bridge Overpass on Broadway Boulevard. Officers found three subjects with a cart in the field west of Open Door. The subjects said all items in the cart were from Open Door’s dumpster.

Arrests

April 11

10:13 p.m.: Curtis D. Lee, 45, of Kansas City, Kansas, was arrested in Saline County on charges of driving while intoxicated and speeding.

April 12

8:50 a.m.: Donnie L. Friend, 29, of Warsaw, was arrested in Benton County on a charge of driving with a revoked license.

2:54 p.m.: James G. Coffin, 49, of Lincoln, was arrested in Benton County on charges of driving while intoxicated and no valid operator’s license.
