A Sedalia man has been charged for his role in a conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine.
According to a news release from Tammy Dickinson, United States Attorney for the Western District of Missouri, Shane Scott Longie, 39, was sentenced in federal court Tuesday by U.S. District Judge Stephen R. Bough to 10 years in federal prison without parole.
On Sept. 1, 2015, Longie pleaded guilty to participating in a conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and to possess methamphetamine with the intent to distribute in Pettis County from August 2012 to March 2013. A confidential informant provided information that Longie was selling multiple ounces of methamphetamine in Sedalia each week. An undercover law enforcement officer purchased a total of 56 grams of methamphetamine from Longie on two occasions in November 2012 and March 2013.
This case was prosecuted by Supervisory Assistant U.S. Attorney Michael S. Oliver. It was investigated by the Sedalia Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
