This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Sedalia Police Department

Arrests

Jan. 15

3:28 p.m.: Stormy A. Hinkl, 22, of Warsaw, was arrested on a charge of shoplifting in the 3200 block of West Broadway Boulevard.

7:55 a.m.: Brock Adam Simon, 33, of the 1300 block of South Ohio Avenue was arrested near the intersection of East 13the Street and South Massachusetts Avenue on charges of driving while suspended and identity theft.

3:38 p.m.: Shianne L. Johns, 21, of Warsaw, was arrested on a charge of shoplifting in the 3200 block of West Broadway Boulevard.

6:59 p.m.: David Gene Busick. 58, of Polo, was arrested near the intersection of South Limit Avenue and West 16th Street on charges of driving while intoxicated, and assault in the second degree (vehicular assault) following a three-car accident in which Busick, who was driving a 1998 GMC pickup, rear-ended a 2002 Ford pickup at the intersection the collision forced the GMC into the northbound Lane of South Limit Avenue where it was struck by an oncoming vehicle. A passenger in the GMC sustained serious injuries and was life flighted to University Medical Center in Columbia.

Jan. 16

12;03 a.m.: Ian J. Garretson, 18, of the 100 block of Roadrunner Court was arrested following a traffic stop on charges of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

4:47 a.m.: Jonathan Glenn Johnson, 29, of the 100 block of Autumn Avenue in Sedalia, was arrested on charges of driving while suspended, felony resisting/interfering with arrest and possession of dangerous drug (methamphetamine) following a traffic stop near the intersection of East Seventh Street and South Mission Avenue. Johnson allegedly fled on foot and was apprehended a short time later hiding behind a house. John was transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hole pending state charges.

Incidents

Jan. 15

1:27 a.m.: A dead body was discovered in a residence in the 2400 block of West Third Street. There was no evidence of Foul Play.

Arrests

Jan. 15

10:48 a.m.: Christina R. Ward, 39, of Sedalia, was arrested in Pettis County on charges of driving while intoxicated, driving while suspended, one misdemeanor warrant out of Sedalia and two misdemeanor warrants from Johnson County.

Jan. 16

12:17 a.m.:Barbara S. Hoeflicker, 34, of Kansas City, Missouri, was arrested in Henry County on charges of possession of a controlled substance, and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.

3:19 a.m.: Samantha R. Abel, 21, of Pleasant Valley, was arrested in Clay County on charges of driving while intoxicated, failure to maintain lane and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia

Jan. 17

Gregory K. Evans, 30, of Kansas City. Missouri, was arrested in Clay County on charges of felony possession of a controlled substance, unlawful use of drug paraphernalia, not wearing a seat belt and speeding.
