Man injured in Saline crash

A man sustained moderate injuries in a single-vehicle accident at 7:02 a.m. Wednesday in Saline County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Gatayas M. Miles, 37, of Hoover, Alabama, was driving west on Interstate 70 at the 64 mile marker when he attempted to pull over his semi-truck onto the shoulder, where it started tilting and then fell onto its side while coming to a stop.

Miles, who was not wearing a seat belt, was taken by Saline County Ambulance District to I-70 Community Hospital in Sweet Springs for his injuries.

Columbia man injured in wreck

A Columbia man was injured in a two-vehicle accident at 10:40 a.m. Thursday in Saline County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Daniel E. Hufford, 25, of Missouri City, and Kezekiya K. Wel, 43, of St. Joseph, were both driving west on Interstate 70, east of U.S. Highway 65, when Hufford’s vehicle overtook and struck the rear of Wel’s vehicle.

A passenger in Wel’s vehicle, Numron K. Kuol, 20, was taken to Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall with minor injuries.

Reports indicate all three involved were wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.

Man injured in Moniteau accident

A Gravois Mills man was injured in a single-vehicle accident at 3:15 p.m. Wednesday in Moniteau County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Thomas Ward, 72, was driving east on state Route C, two-tenths of a mile west of the East state Route CC Junction, when his vehicle traveled off the right side of the road, struck two trees and a post and then overturned.

Ward, who was not wearing a seat belt, was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital in Jefferson City with minor injuries.

Stover man arrested for DWI

A Stover man was arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated after a single-vehicle accident at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday in Morgan County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Reed R. Harms, 21, of Stover, was driving south on Big Buffalo Road, 1.7 miles north of state Route FF, when his vehicle traveled off the left side of the road, struck an embankment and overturned.

Harms was taken by private vehicle to Bothwell Regional Health Center with moderate injuries. A passenger in his vehicle, Christopher M. Whitlock, 28, of Versailles, was taken by private vehicle to Bothwell, then transferred to University Hospital in Columbia, with serious injuries.

Reports indicate both Harms and Whitlock were not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.

Harms was also arrested on a charge of driving with a suspended license.
