Bailey Heimsoth scored 31 points as Cole Camp beat Smithton 56-41 on Monday in Kaysinger Conference girls basketball.

Maddi Cook added 12 for the Bluebirds.

Audrey Williams led the Lady Tigers with 11.

Cole Camp led 12-7 after one quarter and 26-12 at halftime before Smithton outscored them 16-12 in the third.

Cole Camp (4-1) will visit Tipton on Thursday.

Summit Christian 52, Knob Noster 20

Knob Noster fell to Summit Christian 52-20 on Monday.

SCA pulled away by outscoring the Lady Panthers 16-0 in the second quarter.

Jessie Yates led Knob Noster with eight points. Abbi Harvey added seven.

Knob Noster (0-3) will visit Van Horn on Friday.

WRESTLING

Grain Valley Invite

The Smith-Cotton wrestlers took 10th at the Grain Valley Invitational over the weekend.

Kris Houk took fourth at 120 pounds with a 2-3 record. The Tigers had fifth-place finishes from Blake Pomajzl at 132, Gauge Young at 160, Barry Rivera at 170 and Noah Aziere at 182.

“I am very pleased with how our wrestlers opened up their season,” said S-C coach Charlie McFail. “Grain Valley is a very tough, multi-state tournament with many returning state placers and state champions. Our kids started off a little slow with it being our first competition, but they turned it around with some great wrestling. What I liked the most was our never-ending effort and the toughness we showed. We have a lot of room for improvement, but we just took the first step in the right direction.”

Stockdale Invite

Knob Noster took second at the Ray Stockdale Invitational over the weekend as seven Panthers placed in the top four.

Mason Hoagland won the 145-pound weight class.

Steve Elwell and Conner Cruz were both second. Cruz lost in triple overtime in the finals of his weight class. Kodie Bellury was third. Aaron Adams took second. Jake Moreland was third. Eric Scobey was fourth.

The second-place finish came on the heels of the Panthers’ 2-1 showing at a quad meet to open the season as they beat Adrian 53-24 and El Dorado Springs 54-12 before losing to Eldon 48-30.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Cole Camp 63, Eldon 39

Cole Camp beat Eldon 63-39 Saturday in the consolation of the Warsaw Tournament.

Alex Pritzel scored 20 points to lead Cole Camp. Unser Brockman scored 12. Trace Brandes scored 10.

The Bluebirds will play at Smithton on Tuesday.

Lincoln beat Knob Noster -61 in the third-place game

Lucas Rincker scored 27 points for the Panthers.

Skyline beat Butler for the championship.
