Head Coach: Jacob Watson, first year

2014-15 record: 17-10, 4-5 Kaysinger

Who’s back: Noah Turner, Ryan Wood, Bryce Sanders, Jimmy Upton

Who’s gone: Logan Hirst, Grant Huhmann, Dylan Cooper

Outlook: Jacob Watson takes over the program following the departure of Billy Jeffries. Watson brings with him a new playing style.

“We like to play up-tempo,” Watson said. “Really just fundamentally sound, do our job, know our offense, know our defense and really dictate what the other team is doing.”

Defensively, Tipton will play a 2-3 with Watson hoping some aggressiveness on the defensive end could help defense turn into offense.

Bryce Sanders is back for the Cardinals in the low post and could be Tipton’s main scoring threat.

“For us to have a good season, I think he’s going to have to have a good season,” Watson said.

Jimmy Upton could also make a big jump as the Cardinals will look to him for outside scoring. Noah Turner will handle point guard duties. Ryan Wood is going to be one of Tipton’s core leaders.

“I think we could surprise some people,” Watson said.
