

A Sedalia man was arrested on drug-related charges Sunday after a traffic stop prompted a search warrant for a local residence.
According to a Sedalia Police Department STING Unit news release, at 9:30 p.m. SPD officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 200 block of South Ohio Avenue for a traffic violation. The driver was identified as Troy J. Daye, 43, of Sedalia, and a passenger was identified as Latasha L. Wolfe, 24, also of Sedalia.
A SPD K9 Unit performed a sniff of the vehicle. The K9 alerted to the presence of narcotic odor in numerous places throughout the vehicle, and a search revealed marijuana.
As a result of the traffic stop, detectives with the Drug Enforcement Unit applied for and received a search warrant for Daye and Wolfe’s residence in the 700 block of East 13th Street. Detectives and officers executed the warrant at 11:45 p.m.
Upon entry, officers located an adult subject and two juveniles. A search of the residence revealed additional quantities of marijuana, drug packaging materials/supplies, drug paraphernalia and several firearms. The adult in the home was released without charges and the children were released to a relative.
Daye has been charged with possession of a controlled substance with the intent to distribute, unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful use of drug paraphernalia and unlawful transaction with a child. He is at the Pettis County Jail on a $150,000 bond, cash or surety. An arraignment took place Tuesday and a hearing has been scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Thursday.
Wolfe has been charged with unlawful transfer of a weapon to a felon. She is at the Pettis County Jail on a $3,500 bond, cash or surety. An arraignment took place Tuesday and a hearing has been scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Thursday.
