Bothwell Regional Health Center has opened a new urology practice, Bothwell Urology Services with urologist Dr. Kerri Barnes.

Bothwell Urology Services will be located in Suite 203 of the Bothwell Healing Arts Center, 3700 W. 10th St. in Sedalia. The practice will specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of urinary tract and male reproductive health issues, such as bladder problems, incontinence and prostate disease.

Barnes earned her medical degree at the University of Missouri School of Medicine in Columbia and completed her residency at the University of Iowa Department of Urology, Iowa City, Iowa. She also is an assistant professor of Urology Surgery at KU Medical Center at the University of Kansas, Kansas City, and has a master’s degree in Public Health from the University of Iowa.

Barnes is originally from Higginsville, and her husband operates a farm south of Odessa. She is a member of the American Urological Association.

“With an aging population, this area needs additional access to urology services,” said Bothwell President and Chief Executive Officer John Dawes. “Dr. Barnes is from a rural community and is looking forward to practicing here in Sedalia. With her background and expertise, she has a lot to offer the community.”

Appointments can be made by calling 826-1482.
