Hobby Lobby building superintendent for the project, Ken Williams said a minimum of 30 stores would be built this year. Each store takes a minimum of 120 days to construct if all the conditions are perfect. The store is located off West Broadway Blvd., behind Colton’s.
A worker from Brothers Steel Erectors is ready to set rebar on the west wall of the Hobby Lobby building that is currently under construction. Workers set the walls of the 56,000 square foot building during the past week. Construction is expected to be completed by the first of the year according to Project Manager Stan Dietrich of Sterling Construction.
An employee of Brothers Steels Erectors uses a lift to position one of the roof beams at the Hobby Lobby Store. More than 100 workers will work on site to complete the store which is expected to open after the first of the year. Ken Williams, construction superintendent for Hobby Lobby said scheduling the workers and subcontractors is a juggling act as one phase of construction need to be completed before the next stage could begin.
A subcontractor for Hobby Lobby works to set a roof support Friday afternoon at the store’s construction site. Stan Dietrich, project manager for Sterling Construction said once the walls were set in place earlier this week work was beginning to move along. If the weather cooperates the store is expected to be completed by the first of the year.
