WMMC Diagnostic Imaging receives accreditation

WARRENSBURG — Western Missouri Medical Center announced the WMMC Diagnostic Imaging department has received the Gold Standard of Accreditation in Computed Tomography (CT) by the American College of Radiology (ACR).

Jake Corson, RT(R)(CT), Diagnostic Imaging Clinical Coordinator, under the supervision and direction of John J. Waddell, MD, Diagnostic Imaging Medical Director and WMMC Medical Staff President, led the successful accreditation process resulting in a three-year term of accreditation.

The Gold Standard of Accreditation represents the highest level of dedication to image quality and patient safety. To achieve this accreditation, WMMC underwent a rigorous review by the ACR that ensured process, personnel qualifications, equipment, quality assurance and quality control procedures meet nationally-accepted standards of care.

The accreditation process is overseen by board-certified, expert radiologists and medical physicists in advanced Diagnostic Imaging.

“Offering the latest diagnostic imaging technology by highly-qualified technologists has always been a priority for Western Missouri Medical Center,” said Darinda Reberry, President/Chief Executive Officer. “We’re proud to receive this accreditation which attests to that dedication.”

WMMC’s digital imaging center offers advanced technology that looks inside the body to aid in the diagnosis of disease or injury. With a board-certified Radiologist and Imaging Technologists WMMC provides a full range of diagnostic testing to help area providers provide the best care possible.

The medical center hosts a 128-Slice CT scanner that produces vivid, 3D images of the entire body in just 10 seconds.

Waddell has been board-certified in radiology for 22 years. He is a member of the Society of Breast Imagers and the American College of Radiology. He specializes in cross-sectional imaging including CT, US (ultrasound), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and mammography. He is the Medical Staff President at WMMC.
