Sedalia man arrested for DWI
A Sedalia man was arrested for driving while intoxicated after a single-vehicle accident at 1:40 a.m. Saturday in Pettis County.
Franklin D. Greer, 33, was driving south on Winchester Drive, 300 feet north of state Route Y, when his vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway, striking a ditch and a light pole. The vehicle then crossed over Route Y, striking a sign, going airborne and then striking a ditch, utility pole and a yield sign before coming to rest, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report.
Greer, who was not wearing a seat belt, was transported by Pettis County Ambulance District to Bothwell Regional Health Center with moderate injuries.
He was also arrested on a charge of failure to drive on the right half of the road resulting in a crash.
Two injured in accident
Two men were seriously injured in a single-vehicle accident at 1:49 p.m. Saturday in Johnson County.
Jacob N. Woodward, 18, of Waynesville, was driving west in the 1100 block of U.S. Highway 50 when his vehicle traveled off the left side of the road, striking a crossover before it went airborne. The vehicle struck the ground and overturned, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report.
Woodward was taken by Life Flight to Research Medical Center in Kansas City for his injuries. A passenger, Alexander L. Bowen, 19, of Whiteman Air Force Base, was transported by Johnson County Ambulance District to Research Medical Center.
Reports indicate both men were wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.
