Teen hurt in ATV accident

A Utah teenager suffered serious injuries in an ATV accident at 2:45 p.m. Wednesday in Johnson County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Deacon J. Roberts, 13, of Tooele, Utah, was driving an ATV south on Northeast 201 Road when he lost control of the vehicle. It then struck a concrete wall, ejecting Roberts.

Roberts, who was not using a safety device, was taken by Johnson County Ambulance District to Children’s Mercy Medical Center in Kansas City for his injuries.

Kingsville man injured in crash

A Kingsville man was injured in a two-vehicle accident at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday in Johnson County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Christopher D. White, 41, of Centerview, was driving west on U.S. Highway 50, 180 feet east of County Road Northwest 151, when he slowed to make a left turn. Another westbound vehicle driven by Donald E. Simmons, 74, struck the rear passenger corner of White’s vehicle.

Simmons was transported by Johnson County Ambulance District to Research Medical Center in Kansas City with moderate injuries.

Reports indicate Simmons was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident, but White was not.
