Holden man hurt in Pettis
A Holden man sustained moderate injuries in a two-vehicle accident at 11:16 a.m. Tuesday in Pettis County.
According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Auston K. Gerth, 21, was driving east on U.S. Highway 50 at Sadie Lane when his vehicle struck the rear of another eastbound vehicle driven by Floyd W. Hatfield, 55, of Sedalia, who was stopped for a red light.
Gerth was taken by Pettis County Ambulance District to Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg for his injuries.
Reports indicate both Gerth and Hatfield were wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.
Two hurt in Johnson crash
Two Warrensburg residents were injured in a single-vehicle accident at 3:50 p.m. Tuesday in Johnson County.
According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Rachel D. Beymeyer, 15, of Warrensburg, was driving west on state Route Y at SE 521 Road when her vehicle traveled off the right side of the road and she over-corrected. The vehicle returned to the road and Beymeyer over-corrected again, causing the vehicle to begin skidding and sliding, traveling off the right side of the road.
Beymeyer over-corrected a third time and the vehicle returned to the road, overturned, traveled off the left side of the road, struck a fence and came to rest on its wheels.
Beymeyer was taken by air ambulance to Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City with serious injuries. A passenger in her vehicle, Kimberly S. Beymeyer, 50, was taken by Johnson County Ambulance District to St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City with moderate injuries.
Reports indicate both Kimberly and Rachel were wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.
Warsaw man arrested for DWI
A Warsaw man was arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated after a single-vehicle accident at 4:33 p.m. Tuesday in Benton County.
According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Vance R. Whitehouse, 54, was driving south on state Route 83, four-tenths of a mile south of state Route MM, when his vehicle began to skid and slide, then traveled into the left lane. Whitehouse over-corrected and his vehicle traveled off the right side of the road, down an embankment, struck a tree and overturned onto its side.
Whitehouse was taken by Warsaw-Lincoln Ambulance District to Bothwell Regional Health Center with minor injuries.
It is unknown if Whitehouse was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.
He was also arrested on charges of careless and imprudent driving causing an accident and no valid license.
Two hurt in Johnson wreck
Two Windsor residents were injured in a single-vehicle accident at 5:06 p.m. Tuesday in Johnson County.
According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Chantel M. Fannon, 16, was driving north on state Route 23, north of SE 350 Road, when her vehicle traveled off the right side of the road and struck a warning chevron sign. The vehicle traveled across a private drive, began skidding and sliding, then struck a ditch.
Fannon was taken by Johnson County Ambulance District to Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg with minor injuries. A passenger in her vehicle, Leanna S. Fannon, 57, was taken by air ambulance to University Hospital in Columbia with serious injuries.
Reports indicate Chantel was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident, but Leanna was not.
