Man seriously injured in Benton

An Ionia man sustained serious injuries in a single-vehicle accident at noon Monday in Benton County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Mikel G. Lindsay, 23, was driving north on U.S. Highway 65, south of North Dam Access Road, when he lost control of his vehicle on the wet pavement.

Lindsay, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken by Cole Camp Ambulance District to Bothwell Regional Health Center for his injuries.

Four hurt in Pettis crash

Four people sustained minor injuries in a two-vehicle accident at 9:35 p.m. Monday in Pettis County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Shawn M. Pickett, 22, of Windsor, and Will S. Hood, 42, of Houstonia, were both driving east on state Route 52, east of Meyers Road. Hood began to slow his vehicle due to an animal in the road and Pickett failed to yield, striking the rear of Hood’s vehicle.

Hood and three passengers in his vehicle, Bayden Hood, 14, Jeremy G. Hood, 38, and Mattie L. Hood, 26, all of Sedalia, were all taken by private vehicle to Bothwell Regional Health Center for their injuries.

Reports indicate all parties involved were wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.

Warsaw teen hurt in Benton

A Warsaw teen sustained moderate injuries in a single-vehicle accident at 10:05 p.m. Monday in Benton County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Aidan P. Graham, 17, of Warsaw, was driving east on state Route BB at Woodland Road when he failed to negotiate a curve, causing his vehicle to travel off the right side of the road. His vehicle then struck a utility pole.

A passenger in his vehicle, Charles R. Burks, 17, was taken by Warsaw-Lincoln Ambulance District to Bothwell Regional Health Center for his injuries.

Reports indicate both Graham and Burks were wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.

Two injured in Morgan accident

Two women were injured in a two-vehicle accident at 2:15 p.m. Monday in Morgan County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Gail E. Lewis, 65, of Florence, was driving west on U.S. Highway 50 at state Route D when she made a left turn into the path of an eastbound vehicle driven by Suzanne I. Young, 20, of Pleasant Hill. Young’s vehicle struck Lewis’ vehicle nearly head-on.

Lewis was taken by ambulance to Bothwell Regional Health Center with moderate injuries. Young was taken by ambulance to BRHC with serious injuries.

Reports indicate both Lewis and Young were wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.
