The Sedalia City Council will be touching on topics related to several city departments during Monday night’s meeting.
During the pre-council meeting, council will hear a monthly financial update from Finance Director Kelvin Shaw, a Parks and Recreation Department financial update from Director Mark Hewett and an update from City Administrator Gary Edwards on council’s January planning session goals.
Council will also review Change Order 2 from Lehman Construction LLC for $2,880.82 for the U.S. Highway 50/Oak Grove Lane intersection improvements project. Council approved the first change order during the June 5 meeting. According to the meeting packet, this change order will reposition one of the new street lights so it is more accurately aligned with the street lanes. The cost will be reimbursed by the Missouri Department of Transportation.
During the meeting council will also:
• Review an ordinance approving and accepting an agreement to provide professional consulting services for a police operations study with Rejis Commission. According to information in the meeting packet, Rejis is a governmental entity based in St. Louis, and the purpose of the review is to provide the Sedalia Police Department with suggestions on how to make the organization stronger.
• Review an ordinance approving and accepting an agreement with The Spay & Neuter Clinic LLC for veterinary services for the Sedalia Animal Shelter. This is a renewal with only small changes.
• Review an ordinance approving and accepting an agreement with Advanced Pet Care of Sedalia for veterinary services for the Sedalia Animal Shelter. This is a renewal that includes changes.
• Review an ordinance establishing parking restrictions in the Crescent Creek Addition, Crescent Creek Addition Part 2, Lehi Addition, Thompson Addition Part 9 and on Matz Circle. This was unanimously approved by the Traffic Advisory Commission.
• Review an ordinance establishing stop signs on Deseret Dive, Ensign Drive and both entrances to the proposed Ammon Drive at their intersections with 12th Street. This was unanimously approved by the Traffic Advisory Commission.
• Review bids for the demolition of structures at 421 N. Missouri Ave., 608 W. Pettis St., 300 Veterans Memorial Dr., 1000 E. 12th St. and 1614 E. Fourth St. According to the meeting packet, the proposed demolitions are within the Fiscal Year 2018 budget, but when completed the demolition budget will be nearly exhausted.
• Review bids for repair of the Municipal Building plaza. Staff recommends the low bid of $8,500 from D&M Home Improvements.
• Review a records destruction request from the Personnel Department.
• Review an ordinance amending Section 2-809 of the Fee Schedule of the Code of Ordinances relating to records requests. This changes the fee from $0.15 per page to $0.10 per page.
• Review an ordinance approving and accepting an agreement with CGI Communications Inc. for the development and implementation of the 2017 Community Video Program on the city’s official website. This is a renewal of the 2014 agreement with CGI, and there is no cost to the city for this service.
