Eight hurt in Henry crash

Eight Alben, Iowa, residents sustained moderate injuries in a single-vehicle accident at 6:55 a.m. Wednesday in Henry County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Pablo A. Sanchez Herrera, 26, was driving west on state Route M, three-tenths of a mile east of County Road NW 201, when his vehicle traveled off the road and struck a fence and a tree. The vehicle then overturned multiple times, coming to rest on its wheels in a field.

Herrera and several of his passengers, Alex D. Cellei Gonzalez, 19, Jose G. Diaz Garcia, 22, and Juan D. Garcia, 20, were all taken by Golden Valley EMS to Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare in Clinton for their injuries.

Edgar Fuentes, 33, Jamie Galvan Hinostroza, 45, were taken by Golden Valley EMS to Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg.

Victor A. Hernandez Balbosa, 31,was taken by Johnson County Ambulance District to Research Medical Center in Kansas City.

Manuel C. Hernandez Barboza, 24, was taken by Golden Valley EMS to GVMH, then transferred to RMC.

Reports indicate Gonzalez, Diaz, Garcia and Barboza were not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident. It is unknown if Balbosa was wearing one.

Two injured in Henry

Two Windsor residents sustained minor injuries in a two-vehicle accident at 7:45 a.m. in Henry County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Deborah F. Walsh, 60, was driving west on state Route 52, just east of Calhoun, when she slowed for traffic congestion. Another westbound vehicle driven by Shelby L. Wade, 17, failed to slow down and overtook and struck the rear of Walsh’s vehicle.

Both Wade and Walsh, who were wearing a seat belt, were taken by private vehicle to Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare in Clinton for their injuries.

Woman arrested for DWI

A Warrensburg woman was arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated after a single-vehicle accident at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday in Johnson County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Ashley M. Ferreira, 33, was driving south in the 100 block of SE 611th Road when she lost control of her vehicle. It then left the road, struck a mailbox and overturned, coming to rest in a private driveway.

Ferreira, who was not wearing a seat belt, was taken to Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg with minor injuries.

She was also arrested on charges of careless and imprudent driving involving an accident, no driver’s license and no seat belt.
