Thomas Bailey recently joined Bothwell Regional Health Center as the new chief operating officer.
He brings more than 30 years of experience in a wide range of hospital settings, including serving 18 years in hospital administration for Baptist Memorial Health Care based in Memphis, Tennessee. He worked for Baptist Memorial Hospital — Golden Triangle in Columbus, Mississippi; Baptist Memorial Hospital—Union County in New Albany, Mississippi; and Baptist Memorial Hospital in Forrest City, Arkansas. He also spent 12 years working for Methodist University Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.
He began his health care career as a frontline diagnostic radiologic technologist. After specializing in surgical imaging and computed tomography, he moved into health care management.
He earned a Master of Business Administration from Mississippi State University in Starkville, Mississippi; a Bachelor of Science degree in Allied Health Management from Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, Texas; and an Associate of Science in Radiologic Technology from Methodist University Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. He is also a certified radiology administrator. In addition, he has been published in Radiology Management, the peer-reviewed publication of American Healthcare Radiology Administrators.
Bailey is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and served as an advisory board member of the Itawamba Community College School of Radiologic Technology.
