May 2 Police Reports

This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Sedalia Police Department

Arrests

April 28

6:11 a.m.: Clinton R. White, 37, of the 1300 block of East Boonville Road, was arrested in the 600 block of East 14th Street on requested charges of first degree trespassing and resisting arrest. An officer responded to Bothwell Regional Health Center for a subject check where employees had told the subject to leave but he would not leave. He was told several times by officers and staff to leave but he refused and fought with the officer when an arrest was attempted.

9:10 a.m.: Brianna Nicole Johnson, 32, of the 400 block of South New York Avenue, was arrested near the intersection of West 16th Street and South Grand Avenue on requested charges of driving with a revoked license, speeding and failure to properly display license plates.

2:59 p.m.: Christopher L. Richard, 40, of the 2000 block of South Harrison Avenue, was arrested at his residence on a requested charge of possession of child pornography. Members of SPD and the Western Missouri Cyber Task Force served a search warrant, which stemmed from an investigation into the possession of child pornography.

5:33 p.m.: Aaron Wayne Moore, 26, of Pilot Grove, was arrested near the intersection of West Seventh Street and South Moniteau Avenue on a requested charge of driving with a suspended license.

April 29

7:34 a.m.: Justin M. Hall, 28, of the 4900 block of Vernon Road, was arrested near the intersection of South Limit Avenue and Tiger Pride Boulevard on requested charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of cocaine, possession of a controlled substance, failure to maintain financial responsibility and failure to register annually with the Department of Revenue. Officers responded to a vehicle accident. Alcohol was detected from the driver, who was taken into custody. A search revealed a tightly-rolled $1 bill in the driver’s jacket pocket. The bill field tested positive for methamphetamine and cocaine.

April 30

2:11 a.m.: Jessica D. Brown, 28, of the 1000 block of East 16th Street, was arrested in the 3200 block of West Broadway Boulevard on a requested charge of assault. An officer responded to a report of an assault at a business. The victim, who had minor injuries to her lip, said she was assaulted by the suspects. The suspects were arrested and later released with a municipal court summons.

3:03 a.m.: Gaylon E. Marshall, 45, of the 200 block of East St. Louis Street, was arrested near the intersection of West Seventh Street and South Osage Avenue on a requested charge of driving with a suspended license.

3:19 a.m.: Jackie R. Shelledy Jr., 55, of the 800 block of Brentwood Avenue, was arrested in the 3000 block of South Limit Avenue on a requested charge of possession of marijuana. An officer saw two vehicles pull into the dark parking lot of a business that was closed. Investigation revealed one subject had warrants from Polk and Camden counties and was in possession of marijuana.

4:46 p.m.: Robert Benjamin Wallen, 30, of the 1300 block of East 10th Street, was arrested in the 2000 block of East 10th Street on a requested charge of third degree domestic assault. The victim said the suspect slapped them in the face and neck.

9:55 p.m.: Dexter Erwin Cramer, 22, of the 1100 block of South Harrison Avenue, Ryan J. Garrigus, 21, of the 1700 block of Beacon Avenue, and Drew Alexander Lamb, 22, of the 27000 block of Green Road, were issued a municipal court summons in the 300 block of West Broadway Boulevard for possession of marijuana. An officer was at a business when he smelled the odor of marijuana coming from a vehicle in the parking lot. Investigation revealed three occupants were in possession of marijuana.

Incidents

April 29

6:24 p.m.: A hit-and-run vehicle accident was reported overnight in the 600 block of West Sixth Street.

April 30

1:13 a.m.: A hit-and-run vehicle accident was reported at the intersection of West Broadway Boulevard and South Limit Avenue. The victim said they were stopped at the traffic light when their vehicle was rear-ended. They pulled into a nearby parking lot but the suspect vehicle did not stop.

April 28

10:50 p.m.: Brandy N. Thorpe, 32, of Warsaw, was arrested in Benton County on requested charges of driving while intoxicated and driving with a suspended license.

April 30

11:49 a.m.: Clark E. Witt, 58, of Warrensburg, was arrested in Pettis County on a requested charge of driving while intoxicated.

7:27 p.m.: Regina L. Sewell, 46, of Sedalia, was arrested in Benton County on requested charges of possession of marijuana, no seat belt and no insurance.

9:38 p.m.: Michael J. Darrough, 41, of Sedalia, was arrested in Pettis County on a requested charge of assault.

May 1

10:49 a.m.: Robert R. Cox, 47, of Bates City, was arrested in Saline County on a requested charge of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.
