A Sedalia man has been accused of sexually abusing three female juveniles.
Joshua Lee Miller, 32, was charged Thursday morning with statutory sodomy, which is legally defined as deviate sexual intercourse with a person less than 14 years old. He has been issued a $250,000 bond, cash only.
A SPD report states Miller was arrested at 11:40 a.m. Wednesday at his place of employment in the 4400 block of Wisconsin Avenue. The report states an officer responded to an East 13th Street residence March 8 in reference to sexual assault allegations involving three children.
According to court documents, the officer assisted a Children’s Division employee who was contacted by the juveniles’ mother after one child gave her a note that said Miller had done “bad things.”
The three children — ages 13, 10 and 9 — each had interviews at Child Safe of Central Missouri Inc. on March 10.
According to court documents, the 13-year-old said during her interview Miller began touching her inappropriately when she was 10 or 11, describing an incident where Miller said he wanted the child to “cuddle” with him. He touched her belly and back, then her “bottom” and “private parts,” documents state.
She described another incident earlier this year when Miller again began touching her inappropriately. As he began to touch her “privates,” the girl pushed Miller’s arm away and went to the bathroom, documents state. She told her interviewer that was the last incident.
The 13-year-old said she decided to tell someone when she found out Miller was also touching her sisters.
When asked if the 13-year-old had any questions for the interviewer, she asked if Miller “would ever see them again because she doesn’t want him to,” documents state.
Both the 10-year-old and 9-year-old described similar incidents. All three girls said Miller touched them both on top of and under their clothing at various times. The 9-year-old said that Miller removed all her clothing during one incident.
SPD requested charges of eight counts of first degree child molestation and five counts of first degree statutory sodomy; additional formal charges may be added later.
Information regarding arraignment was not available at press time.
