Three Clinton residents were injured in a two-vehicle accident at 2:46 p.m. Saturday in Saline County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Victoria L. Gaylord, 55, of Cabool, was driving south on U.S. Highway 65 at Grouse Road when she applied the brakes and her vehicle was rear-ended by another southbound vehicle driven by Kenneth A. Clater, 38, of Clinton.

Three occupants, Jenny M. Payne, 30, Aiden Wright, 11, and Destiny Clater, 13, were all taken by ambulance to Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall. Payne and Wright sustained minor injuries while Clater sustained moderate injuries.

Reports indicate Kenneth Clater, Destiny Clater, Payne and Gaylord were all wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident, but Wright was not.

Information is taken from preliminary Missouri State Highway Patrol and Sedalia Police Department reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved.
