Max Martin’s four goals led Sacred Heart to a 9-0 semifinal win over Smithton in the Class 1, District 6 soccer tournament Wednesday at Clover Dell Park.
After Francisco Rojas got the Gremlins on the board in the sixth minute, Martin struck with his first in the11th. He added another in the 20th, assisted on a Sebastian Aguero goal in the 26th and scored in the 38th to put Sacred Heart ahead 5-0 at halftime.
In the second half, Martin scored in the 43rd. Christopher Mergen made it 7-0 in the 49th minute. Will Prenger set up Rojas in the 70th minute and Aguerro capped off the scoring off a free kick from 20 yards out with 34 seconds left in the game.
