Jan. 12 Police Reports

This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

Jan. 9

9:27 a.m.: Skyler E. Henderson, 20, of the 1200 block of South Carr Avenue, was arrested in the 1500 block of South Limit Avenue on a charge of stealing. A victim reported someone used their bank card without permission. The suspect was identified and arrested.

Jan. 10

1:56 a.m.: Mitchel W. Duncan, 28, no address given, was arrested on a charge of resisting arrest. Officers responded to a report of a disturbance and saw several subjects arguing. Several were identified and one subject, who was found to have a Failure to Appear warrant from Benton County, left the area while officers were conducting information checks with dispatch. He was later located in a business parking lot.

6:50 p.m.: Sean S. Burke, 45, no address given, was arrested near the intersection of South Lamine Avenue and East 18th Street on charges of fourth degree assault and second degree trespassing. A male was reportedly threatening a homeowner. The man was arrested a few blocks from the incident.

Incidents

Jan. 9

2:03 p.m.: A tire was reported slashed on a vehicle, the gas cap was also removed and possible a substance was put inside the gas tank in the 200 block of East Walnut Street.

3:27 p.m.: Twenty-four vehicles, some trailers and equipment such as a log splitter were reported stolen in the 1500 block of East Fourth Street. The complainant was the executor of a deceased family member’s estate.

Jan. 10

2:19 a.m.: Four tires on a vehicle were reported slashed near the intersection of West Seventh Street and South Vermont Avenue.

6:02 p.m.: A firecracker was reportedly thrown on the front porch of a residence in the 1100 block of West Sixth Street, causing damage to the siding.

Arrests

Jan. 10

7:01 p.m.: Devin R. Vaught, 28, of Holt Summit, was arrested in Saline County on charges of possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), possession of marijuana, speeding and no seat belt.
