Playoff matchups have been set in high school football.
By virtue of its 9-0 record, Smith-Cotton has the No. 1 seed in the Class 5, District 6, three points ahead of No. 2 seed Carthage in the standings. The Tigers have a first-round bye as Belton (6-3) and Willard (5-4) play Friday for the right to travel to Tiger Stadium on Oct. 30. On the other side of the bracket, Carthage (8-1) awaits the winner of Neosho (6-3) and Ruskin (0-9).
In Class 3, Warsaw will open the tournament at Mountain Grove in a rematch of last year’s first-round game.
In Class 2, District 7, Knob Noster will visit Father Tolton. The winner of that game will face the winner between Hallsville at St. Paul Lutheran.
Meanwhile Cole Camp (6-3) will play at South Callaway (7-2). The winner of that game will get either Holden or Higginsville.
In Class 1, District 6, Sweet Springs will travel to Westran. The 2-7 Greyhounds finished with the No. 6 seed, ending up just 3.19 points behind No. 4 seed Fayette in the district standings.
In Class 1, District 4, Windsor (4-5) will face Crest Ridge (7-2). Windsor won 47-40 at Crest Ridge on Friday. The Greyhounds and Cougars also met in Weeks 9 and 10 in 2014 with the Cougars winning both games.
The winner of that game will face the winner of Lincoln (9-0) and Appleton City (2-5).
On the other side of the bracket, No. 5 Tipton (2-6) will visit Osceola (6-3). Osceola fell to a pair of Tipton’s conference rivals this season: Lincoln and Cole Camp. With a win, Tipton will advance to face Skyline (9-0) who has the top seed and a first-round bye.
In 8-man football, Sacred Heart will visit Northwest. The Gremlins have the No. 5 seed in the district with Northwest No. 4. The Gremlins beat the Mustangs 62-52 on Sept. 25.
The winner will face Southwest Livingston. Norborne will face Chilhowee.
