





Members of the Sacred Heart junior class, led by Britten Mergen, show their Gremlin pride during the Homecoming parade held Friday afternoon. The class created a float “Destination: Barbecue.” The members of the class said they were hoping to grill up the Albany Warriors, their opponents in the homecoming football contest Friday night.

The freshman class’ float from Sacred Heart embodies the theme of “Destination, Homecoming,” with their take on the 1933 movie “King Kong,” The school’s Gremlin mascot towers over New York City. Each class created a float for the parade. The entire SHS student body attended the parade Friday afternoon. After the parade the students returned to the school gym for a pep assembly.
Members of the SHS football team, Jake Mothersbaugh, Trent Lyles, and Nick Cashmen, along with Caden Crooker, son of assistant football coach Caleb Crooker, ride atop a Sedalia Fire truck on Ohio Ave. Friday afternoon. The team 3-3, will face Albany for their homecoming match up Friday night at 7 p.m. at Tiger Stadium.
Members of the Sacred Heart band ride on a flatbed truck as they perform for the crowd on Sixth Street, Friday afternoon. The band is comprised of students in grades seven through 12 and is under the direction of Nancy Edwards. The band was playing the Notre Dame Victory March, arranged by Paul Lavender, which is the school song of Sacred Heart.
Dan Lowe, a member of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 831 leads the Sacred Heart Homecoming Parade Friday afternoon. Lowe and three other members of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 831 served as the color guard for the event.
