HIGH SCHOOL VOLLEYBALL

Nevada 2, Smith-Cotton 0

The Lady Tigers dropped its third match in a row Tuesday at home, 22-25, 20-25.

Elix Simon led the team with three kills. Jorel Luebbert had two kills. Tori Jacoby had 10 assists and Jenna Rapp had three service aces.

Smith-Cotton hosts Clinton at 5 p.m. Thursday.

Otterville 2, Bunceton 0

Otterville swept Bunceton 25-20, 25-10 in its first game of the season Tuesday on the road.

Dalaney Stone had eight kills, seven assists and a block. Emily Gorrell scored eight services aces and Abby Nichols had six assists and three kills.

The Eagles face Smithton on the road Thursday at 5:30 p.m.

LATE MONDAY RESULTS

Versailles 2, Warrensburg 1

The Versailles Lady Tigers defeated Warrensburg in three sets, 25-18, 17-25 , 25-17, in a home match Monday.

Bri Hendrix had nine kills, 10 digs and a pair of aces. Tessa Edgar had 25 digs and Taralee Edgar had 22 assists.

Hope Heimsoth had 15 digs at libero, and Brooke Edgar had six blocks.

Versailles (3-0) faced Skyline on the road Tuesday.

BOY’S SOCCER

Clinton 2, Green Ridge 1

Green Ridge boy’s soccer lost in golden goal overtime Monday at home, 2-1, to Clinton.

Luis Gonzales scored the equalizer and the lone Tigers goal in the 46th minute. Jordan Dillon provided the assist.

Smith-Cotton 4, O’Hara 1

The Smith-Cotton boys soccer team notched another West Central Conference victory on Tuesday, defeating O’Hara, 4-1, at Susie Ditzfeld Memorial Soccer Complex.

The Tigers got goals from Carlos Aguirre, Blake Grupe, Jonathan Lopez and Trey Goodson. Chipping in with assists were Aguirre, Jordan Lawson and Alan Castillo.

S-C is 4-1 on the season and 2-0 in WCC play.

Smith-Cotton JV 6, O’Hara 0

Serge Zayats had a pair of goals as the Smith-Cotton JV soccer team recorded a 6-0 win over O’Hara on Tuesday at Susie Ditzfeld Memorial Soccer Complex.

Also scoring for S-C (1-0) were Landon Naylor, Viktor Tsymbal, Juan Portugal and Keith Hawkins. Tsymbal had a pair of assists, while Hawkins and Daniel Deleon added one assist each.

GIRL’S TENNIS

Jefferson City 9, Smith-Cotton 0

The Smith-Cotton Lady Tigers tennis team had a rough day Tuesday, as Jefferson City High posted a 9-0 win at Liberty Park.

The loss dropped the Lady Tigers to 2-2 on the season.

GIRL’S GOLF

Sacred Heart second at Boonville tri-match

Boonville won a home tri-match over the Lady Gremlins and California with a score of 210, six strokes below runner-up Sacred Heart.

MeKenna Stumph of Boonville was the medalist, shooting a 43.

Abby Smeltzer was runner-up with a score of 52. Julianna Bourgeret and Claire Sobaski followed just behind shooting 53. Noelle Sunnarborg carded a 58, and Anjanae Williams finished with 65.
