Missouri State Fair says goodbye until next year

A workman for Wade Shows Inc. dismantles the Crazy Mouse roller coaster Monday on the Carnival Midway at the Missouri State Fairgrounds. Show Manager Dwight Risch said the carnival is in partnership with Murphy Brothers Exposition. “This is my favorite fair,” he added. “I love the food, they have a nice selection.”

Steady as she goes, a workman of Wade Shows Inc. maintains a rope connected to a piece of rail from the Crazy Mouse as a large crane lowers it slowly onto a tractor trailer. The 114th Missouri State Fair concluded Sunday evening. On Monday, Wade Shows Manager Dwight Risch said the carnival would now travel to the Nebraska State Fair and to Santa-Cali-Gon Days in Independence.

Several workmen from Wade Shows Inc., secure a carnival ride at noon Monday on the Carnival Midway. A day after the Missouri State Fair concluded, the fairgrounds were still bustling with people packing up tents and other equipment.

Colorful carnival rides wait to be hoisted onto trucks Monday on the Missouri State Fairgrounds. Although the first day of the MSF was extremely hot, by the end of the 11-day event visitors were enjoying evenings of 58 degrees.
