The Sedalia City Council will have a special meeting tonight with only a few agenda items, including more discussion about the new Sedalia Police Department Headquarters building.
Council will vote to choose an architect for the new SPD Headquarters. According to information in the meeting packet, the City of Sedalia received 12 proposals for the advertised project by the deadline.
The project team, comprised of City Administrator Gary Edwards, SPD Cmdr. Larry Ward, Finance Director Kelvin Shaw and Community Development Director John Simmons, evaluated and scored the applicants on a variety of criteria, as well as called references.
The team recommends council approve GHN Architects, of Springfield. The team plans to have a contract for council to review by the next council meeting.
Council will also review an ordinance approving a Workplace/Health Fair Immunization Agreement with Wal-Mart Stores Inc., a Delaware Corporation, for a flu clinic for city staff.
Council will also review a resolution amending the Municipal Court Fine and Bond Chart relating to Senate Bill 572.
The Sedalia City Council special meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the mayor’s conference room at the Municipal Building, 200 S. Osage Ave. For more information, call 827-3000.
