Lead Line shows-off wool fashion

The wool fashion show has been hosted at the MSF for more than 30 years. “It’s an opportunity to display and promote the beauty of wool, and its versatility,” Nancy Barcus, a judge for the show, said.

Helping to lead her sheep, Karsyn Sappington, of Centraila, enters the ring during the Show-Me Lead Line Show at the Sheep Pavilion Sunday. “The Pee Wee is a fun class for children under 8,” JoLynn Yates, mistress of ceremonies, said. “They receive a participation ribbon as well as a bag of goodies.”

Having a small amount of trouble with her sheep, Heidi Wheeler, of Centraila, makes a pass through the show ring Sunday during the Show-Me Lead Line Show at the MSF. Heidi’s little sister, Holly, also entered the ring with a stuffed lamb following close on the heels of her older sibling.

Placing first in the Show-Me Lead Line Show Junior Division, Olivia Dunard, of Troy, leads her sheep through the show ring on Saturday in the Sheep Pavilion at the MSF. Rachel Ancell, of Macon placed second and Alex Endicott placed third. “The 8 to 10-year-old competitors receive premium money from the MSF, the top three places receive additional money from the Missouri Sheep Producers and may receive more cash from the sheep’s state breed association,” JoLynn Yates, mistress of ceremonies, said.
