A corn dog stand on the Missouri State Fairgrounds gets a fresh coat of yellow paint by Kindle Turner, 14, late Tuesday morning. Turner was helping her mother Tammy Turner paint the stand in preparation for the upcoming fair. Tammy Turner said they would be painting another concession stand near the Grandstand later in the day. Both stands are owned by Kindle Concessions.
Austin Crowe power-washes the floor of Good Time Charlie’s Roadhouse on the Missouri State Fairgrounds, Tuesday. Crowe, who was working for Charlie Benny, said they have been sprucing up the place for two weeks and prep work was finally winding down.
Tuesday at noon, Gary Ford, of Carrollton, was ready to purchase John Kay & Steppenwolf concert tickets at the Missouri State Fair Box Office from ticket salesperson Terri Ward. Ford asked Ward where the best seats were located and she gave him a tour of the stands. Ford drove 60 miles to buy the tickets and planned to attend the Aug. 13 concert with his girlfriend. “Oh my god, I love that band,” he said.
