Warsaw man seriously injured
A Warsaw man sustained serious injuries in a single-vehicle accident at 5:47 p.m. Thursday in Benton County.
According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Charles S. Sousley, 62, was driving a motorcycle north on Salley Drive, one-tenth of a mile south of Hughes Road, when his vehicle traveled off the side of the road and struck two trees. Sousley was ejected from the vehicle and came to rest in a ditch.
Sousley, who was not wearing a helmet, was taken by Life Flight Eagle to University Hospital in Columbia for his injuries.
Slater man seriously injured
A Slater man sustained serious injuries in a single-vehicle accident at 8:36 p.m. Thursday in Saline County.
According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Mickeyth G. Broadway, 21, was driving north on Lime Avenue, a half mile south of state Route 240, when his vehicle traveled off the road and struck a ditch. The vehicle then overturned, ejecting Broadway. His vehicle then came to rest on the road on the passenger side.
Broadway, who was not wearing a seat belt, was taken by air ambulance to Research Medical Center in Kansas City for his injuries.
Sedalia man injured in Johnson
A Sedalia man sustained serious injuries in a two-vehicle accident at 10:55 a.m. Friday in Johnson County.
According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, James L. Toboben, 85, was driving east on U.S. Highway 50 when he slowed to make a left-hand turn. Another eastbound vehicle driven by Richard B. Fleming, 48, of Lone Jack, failed to yield and his vehicle overtook and struck the rear of Toboben’s vehicle.
Toboben’s vehicle then traveled off the left side of the road, overturned and came to rest in the median.
Toboben was taken by Johnson County Ambulance District to Research Medical Center in Kansas City for his injuries.
Reports indicate both Toboben and Fleming were wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.
