Two seriously injured in Pettis
Two Richland residents sustained serious injuries in a two-vehicle accident at 10:10 a.m. Friday in Pettis County.
According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Julianna D. Heim, 50, was driving north on U.S. Highway 65, north of Mather Road, when she rear-ended another northbound vehicle driven by Steven K. Pabst, 56, of Cole Camp. Heim was avoiding a bicyclist and another vehicle slowing for the bicyclist.
Heim and a passenger in her vehicle, Isabella T. Guzman, 14, were both taken by Cole Camp Ambulance District to Bothwell Regional Health Center for their injuries.
Reports indicate Heim and Guzman were wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident, but Pabst was not.
Versailles man arrested for DWI
A Versailles man was arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated after a single-vehicle accident at 7:50 p.m. Thursday in Morgan County.
According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Richard A. Snyder, 40, was driving an ATV at a high rate of speed north on Ritchie Road, south of state Route MM, when his vehicle traveled off the left side of the road. Snyder fell off the vehicle, which came to rest in a ditch.
Snyder, who was not using a safety device, was taken by ambulance to Lake Regional Health System in Osage Beach with moderate injuries.
Snyder was also arrested on charges of unlawfully operating an ATV on a roadway and careless and imprudent driving.
