Man seriously injured in Johnson
A Blue Springs man sustained serious injuries in a one-vehicle accident at 10:40 a.m. Sunday in Johnson County.
Bobby R. Powell, 49, was driving west on U.S. Highway 50, east of state Route 131, when his vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway. His vehicle then struck a ditch, overturned and then struck a tree, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report.
Powell, who was wearing a seat belt, was transported by air ambulance to Research Medical Center in Kansas City for his injuries.
Sedalians hurt in Pettis
Two Sedalia residents were injured in a two-vehicle accident at 11:41 a.m. Saturday in Pettis County.
Kristopher J. Crump, 21, of Sedalia, was driving a vehicle northbound on state Route U at 36th Street when he made a left turn into the pathway of a southbound vehicle driven by Vladimir P. Balaban, 55, of Sedalia. Balaban’s vehicle struck Crump’s vehicle, according to a Missouri State highway Patrol report.
Crump was taken by Pettis County Ambulance District to Bothwell Regional Health Center for treatment of minor injuries. Balaban refused treatment at the scene. Reports indicate both men were wearing seat belts at the time of the accident.
