WHITEMAN AIR FORCE BASE — An Airman assigned to the 509th Maintenance Group at Whiteman Air Force Base was found dead Thursday morning in Knob Noster, according to a WAFB news release.
“We are devastated by the loss of one of our own,” said Brig. Gen. Paul Tibbets IV, 509th Bomb Wing commander. “Each of our Airmen is a part of our military family, so we take this loss quite personally. Our thoughts and prayers are with this Airman’s loved ones and all those affected during this time of grief.”
Local law enforcement officials are investigating the incident and Whiteman Air Force Base will work in conjunction with them to release more details as they become available.
