It is going to be hot the next few days, with Thursday being the hottest, according to Sedalia-Pettis County Emergency Management Agency Director Dave Clippert. Pettis County is in a Heat Advisory starting at 1 p.m. today until 8 p.m. Thursday evening. Heat indices will reach the 100 to 110 mark over the next few days. This is more like August temperatures rather than middle of June. To reduce the risk of heat related injuries drink plenty of water, avoid caffeinated drinks, avoid sugary drinks, wear loose clothing in light colors. Check on the elderly and certainly don’t forget your pets.
