This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

June 5

5:26 p.m.: Amber Nicole Williams, 17, of the 200 block of West 10th Street, was arrested near the intersection of West 16th Street and South Grand Avenue on charges of identity theft, operating a motor vehicle without a valid license, no proof of insurance and failure to register annually with the Department of Revenue. An officer conducted a traffic stop for improper registration. The subject didn’t have her ID and gave a false name to the officer.

June 6

1:40 a.m.: Anthony C. Owens, 18, of the 2300 block of South Woodlawn Avenue, was arrested in the 900 block of Thompson Boulevard on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.

June 3

2:21 p.m.: Possible child molestation allegations were reported in the 1700 block of West 16th Street.

June 4

4:07 a.m.: An attempted robbery was reported at a business in the 1600 block of East Broadway Boulevard. A female employee was outside getting ice from the cooler when two subjects allegedly attacked her when she wasn’t looking. The employee reported the subjects assaulted her and reached into her pockets as if looking for items to steal. She sustained minor injuries. The suspects fled the area before officers arrived.

5:12 p.m.: A brindle pitbull puppy was reported stolen in the 100 block of South Prospect Avenue.

June 5

2:25 p.m.: A hit-and-run accident involving a pedestrian was reported near Harrison Avenue and Fourth Street. The male pedestrian reported he was walking on Harrison Avenue when a vehicle backed into him, knocking him over. The vehicle then left the scene. The victim was taken by Pettis County Ambulance District to Bothwell Regional Health Center with leg pain.

4:51 p.m.: A white male and female reportedly attacked a male victim in the 1300 block of East 11th Street thinking he was someone else. The female tried to stab the victim with a knife, but hit his belt. He sustained a small cut above his hip.

Arrests

June 3

9:25 p.m.: Chance A. Weber, 18, of Pleasant Hill, was arrested in Henry County on charges of possession of marijuana and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.

9:25 p.m.: Alejandro Torres, 18, of Belton, was arrested in Henry County on charges of speeding and possession of marijuana.

9:25 p.m.: Clayton S. Fenzl, 18, of Belton, was arrested in Henry County on possession of marijuana.

June 4

2:09 a.m.: Sarah E. Gerloff, 18, of Sedalia, was arrested in Pettis County on charges of minor in possession/visibly intoxicated and no insurance.

3:49 a.m.: Jackie E. Esser, 21, of Blackwater, was arrested in Saline County on a charge of driving while intoxicated.

June 5

12:20 a.m.: Melinda J. Wilber, 46, of Archie, was arrested in Henry County on a charge of driving while intoxicated.

1:17 a.m.: Duane E. Dixon, 53, of Sedalia, was arrested in Johnson County on charges of driving while intoxicated, careless and imprudent driving and driving with a suspended license.

11:16 a.m.: Deonta A. Words, 21, of Warrensburg, was arrested in Johnson County on charges of no front license plate, child passenger not properly restrained, forgery and driving with a suspended license.

2:53 p.m.: Wesley H. Coskey, 35, of Warsaw, was arrested in Moniteau County on charges of driving with a suspended license, careless and imprudent driving resulting in a vehicle accident, no seat belt and driving while intoxicated.
