Child, teen injured in Johnson
A child and a teenager were injured in a single-vehicle accident at 11:14 p.m. Monday in Johnson County.
According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Aubrianna M. Hayes, 16, of Kingsville, was driving south in the 300 block of SW state Route T when she swerved to avoid an animal in the roadway. Her vehicle traveled off the left side of the road and struck the ground.
Hayes and a passenger in her vehicle, Ashton Hayes, 12, of Kingsville, were both taken to Children’s Mercy Hospital with minor injuries.
Reports indicate both Ashton and Aubrianna were wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.
Two injured in Morgan crash
Two Olathe, Kansas, residents were injured in a single-vehicle accident at 7:40 p.m. Monday in Morgan County.
According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Timothy J. Plummer, 58, was driving north on state Route 5, one-tenth of a mile north of Gravois Heights Road, when his vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway, struck an embankment and overturned.
Plummer was taken by ambulance to Lake Regional Health System in Osage Beach with moderate injuries. His son and passenger, Seth J. Plummer, 12, was also taken to LRHS with minor injuries.
Reports indicate both Timothy and Seth were wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.
