Kingsville teen injured

A Kingsville teenager was injured in a one-vehicle accident after striking a parked vehicle at 2:58 a.m. Sunday in Johnson Country.

Logan M. Edwards, 16, was driving on state Route 2, 388 feet west of North Missouri Avenue, when his vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway. The vehicle then returned to the roadway, traveled off the left side of the roadway and struck a parked vehicle, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report.

Edwards, who was not wearing a seat belt, was transported by Johnson County Ambulance District to Children’s Mercy Medical Center where he was treated for moderate injuries.

Man arrested for DWI

A Sedalia man was transported to the Pettis County Jail on a charge of driving while intoxicated after a one-vehicle accident at 3:49 Saturday in Pettis County.

Matthew C. Maggard, 37, was driving on state Route Y, two-tenths of a mile west of Allen Road, when he drove off the right side of the road. His vehicle then struck a fence and came to rest in a field, according to a Missouri State Highway patrol report.

Reports indicate both Maggard and a passenger in his vehicle, Stephan S. Nelson, 32, of Sedalia, were wearing seat belts at the time of the accident.

Nelson was transported by Pettis County Ambulance District to Bothwell Regional Health Center for treatment of minor injuries. Maggard also sustained minor injuries.

Maggard was also arrested on charges of no insurance and driving with a revoked license.

Warrensburg woman hurt

A Warrensburg woman was injured in a one-vehicle accident at 9:40 p.m. Friday in Johnson County.

Cassandra K. Hook, 25, of Warrensburg was driving on U.S. 50 Highway at state Route 23 when the vehicle she was driving struck a deer and then slid off the right side of the road, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report.

Hook, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken by private vehicle to Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg for treatment of minor injuries.
