The Missouri State Fair has announced three more entertainment options for the 2016 event, adding two more country concerts to the Pepsi Grandstand lineup.
According to a MSF news release, two country music concerts and auto racing will finish out the 2016 Pepsi Grandstand series at the Fair.
Friday, Aug. 19 will feature three acts as part of Red Dirt Country Night with Randy Rogers Band, Stoney LaRue and Jason Boland & The Stragglers. Lady Antebellum with opener Kelsea Ballerini will take the Pepsi Grandstand stage Saturday, Aug. 20. The final day of the Fair, Sunday, Aug. 21 will end with the High Roller Classic ASCS National Sprint Cars, ULMA Late Models and WAR Non-Wing Sprint Cars.
“The final weekend line-up in the Pepsi Grandstand this year is a great one for fairgoers with two nights of country music and auto races,” MSF Director Mark Wolfe said. “Four more nights of concerts will be announced soon.”
Randy Rogers Band’s recently released album “Nothing Shines Like Neon” continues the momentum established by the band’s four previous albums, each of which went to No. 1 on iTunes. Stoney LaRue has sold more than 1 million records over his career. His song “Golden Shackles” along with others have been seen at the top of the music charts. Jason Boland & The Stragglers released their latest album “Squelch” in October. It reached No. 11 on the Top Country Albums chart. Tickets for the Aug. 19 show are $10 and $15.
The seven-time Grammy award-winning group Lady Antebellum has secured nine chart-topping hits while earning six platinum singles and selling more than 11 million albums worldwide. The trio has earned “Vocal Group of the Year” honors from both the CMA and ACMs three years in a row.
Opening for Lady Antebellum is Kelsea Ballerini, named CMT’s Next Woman of Country in 2014. Her songs “Love Me Like You Mean It” and “Dibs” made her only the fifth solo female country artist to score back-to-back No. 1 hits. She released a new single to American country radio, “Peter Pan,” in March. Tickets for the Aug. 20 show start at $35.
The Fair will celebrate its finale with an evening of racing in the Pepsi Grandstand on Sunday, Aug. 21. The High Roller Classic will feature ASCS National Sprint Cars, ULMA Late Models and WAR Non-Wing Sprint Cars starting with hot laps at 6 p.m. and heat races at 7 p.m. Tickets for the race are $23 for adults, $21 for military/senior (age 65 and older), $10 for students age 13-16, $5 for youth age 6-12 and free for kids 5 and under.
These events join previously announced Fair concerts with country artists Chris Janson with LOCASH on Tuesday, Aug. 16 and Christian rock groups Newsboys with Hawk Nelson on Thursday, Aug. 18.
Tickets for all concerts will be available to the public starting June 21 through Ticketmaster online or by phone. Concertgoers can sign up to become a Fair Fan at mostatefair.com to receive early announcements, including grandstand concert ticket presale opportunities.
Tickets for the auto races will be available to the public starting at June 27 through Ticketmaster online or by phone, and also through the State Fair Box Office, which opens that same day.
