Warsaw woman injured in wreck

A Warsaw woman was seriously injured in a one-vehicle accident at 2:10 p.m. Thursday in Henry County.

Margherita Arruda, 56, was driving westbound on Missouri Highway 7, one-tenth of a mile from county road 681 when the vehicle she was driving ran off the north side of the roadway, over-corrected and ran off the south side of the roadway. The vehicle then struck an embankment and overturned before coming to a rest on its top according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report.

Arruda, who was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident, was transported to Research Medical Center by Lifelight Air Ambulance for treatment of serious injuries.

Odessa man hurt in 3-vehicle accident

An Odessa man suffers moderate injuries in a three-vehicle accident at 6:15 p.m. Thursday night.

Hartmut Noerenberg, 72, was traveling eastbound in the right lane of U.S. Highway 50 at 1801 Road when the vehicle he was driving cut in front of a vehicle driven by Jason G. Carmichael, 23, of Lee’s Summit according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report.

The vehicle driven by Summit attempted to slow down and was struck by a vehicle driven by Justus L. Nixon, 18, of Odessa. This caused the vehicle driven by Carmichael to strike the vehicle driven by Noerenberg.

Norenberg’s vehicle traveled off the left side of the roadway.

Reports indicate that all three drivers were wearing seat belts at the time of the accident.

Noerenberg was transported by Johnson County Ambulance District to Research Medical for treatment of moderate injuries.

5 injured in Saline County

Five receive minor injuries in a Saline County accident at 7:10 p.m. Friday night.

William J. Claggette, 51, of Marshall was driving a vehicle south on state Route 240 east of Highway 41 when the vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report.

The vehicle then returned to the road before and traveling off the right side of the roadway a second time. The vehicle then struck a private wooden fence post before coming to rest in an open field.

Claggette and four passengers, Travis L. Claggett, 33, Bruce L. Kennedy, 1, Samuel L. Kennedy 37, and Samuel S. Kennedy, all of Marshall were transported to Fitzgibbon Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

Reports indicate all five individuals were wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.
