Barnett man killed in crash

A Barnett man died in a single-vehicle accident at 8:45 a.m. Sunday in Morgan County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Gary W. Meinhardt, 54, was driving west on state Route W at South Marvin Road when his vehicle traveled off the right side of the road and he over-corrected. His vehicle then crossed the center line. Meinhardt over-corrected again and his vehicle overturned several times.

Meinhardt was pronounced dead at the scene at 9 a.m. by Morgan County Coroner Doc Jones.

Reports indicate Meinhardt was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.

Man hurt in Moniteau

A Jefferson City man sustained moderate injuries in a single-vehicle accident at 11:20 a.m. Monday in Moniteau County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Kyle S. Denich, 29, was driving south on state Route 179 at Moniteau Creek when his vehicle traveled off the right side of the road and he over-corrected. The vehicle then crossed the center line and Denich over-corrected again, causing the vehicle to travel off the right side of the road and overturn.

Denich, who was not wearing a seat belt, was taken by ambulance to St. Mary’s Medical Center in Jefferson City for his injuries.

Man arrested for DWI

A Warrensburg man was arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated after a two-vehicle accident at 10:22 a.m. Monday in Johnson County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Kevin W. McKinney, 45, was driving east on state Route BB when he pulled into the path of a southbound vehicle on Business 13 driven by Clara A. Reed, 64, of Warrensburg, and the two vehicles collided.

Reed was taken by Johnson County Ambulance District to Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg with minor injuries.

Reports indicate both McKinney and Reed were wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.

McKinney was also arrested on a charge of failure to yield.
